Celebrating Nurses Week: A Special Message from Pardeep Kaur, RN

As we celebrate Nurses Week, we're privileged to share a heartening message from Pardeep Kaur, a dedicated registered nurse working in Canada. Pardeep has graciously offered insights into her nursing journey, echoing the sentiments and experiences of many in this noble profession.

A special message to all nurses

"Hi, my name is Pardeep Kaur. I'm a registered nurse here in Canada. And today, I would like to share my experience as a nurse. Initially, I started working in a long-term care home, and within a few months, I also joined a hospital. My favorite part of being a nurse is going back home with the feeling that I have helped someone today, and this feeling keeps me motivated. And I would also like to add on here that being a nurse is really challenging, physically as well as mentally. So, in order to take care of your patients, you have to take care of yourself first. And at the end, I would like to thank Tuktu, the whole team of Tuktu, for giving me this opportunity to express and share my journey in a healthcare setting so far. Thank you."

Pardeep highlights the dual settings of her career—long-term care and hospital—underscoring the versatile environments nurses adapt to. Her story reflects a common theme among healthcare professionals: the rewarding yet challenging nature of nursing. She stresses the importance of self-care, a crucial element for those in the caregiving professions, to maintain their ability to provide the best care to others.
